American Sentinel University Showcases Innovative GIS Programs Embracing Latest Tech Trends at 2014 Esri User Conference – Geospatial Technology and Mapping Innovation Key to Solving Challenges of the 21st Century –
AURORA, Colo. – June 30, 2014 – American Sentinel University, an accredited online university that offers degree programs focused on the needs of high-growth careers, will be exhibiting its innovative competency-based geographic information systems (GIS) degree programs at the 2014 Esri User Conference.
Stationed in booth E107, American Sentinel University’s team of expert GIS faculty, led by GIS Program Chair, Stephen A. McElroy, Ph.D., GISP, will answer questions about the university’s GIS programs and detail how the competency-based GIS programs prepare students to become geospatial leaders with the latest technology trends.
“Mapping, location and geospatial technology are changing the way we see the world and have become an important tool to solve the world’s most diverse problems,” says Dr. McElroy. “Our geospatial programs provide the framework to develop tomorrow’s technology leaders on the national and global level.”
Dr. McElroy says the university’s competency-based programs offer students the ability to apply geospatial themes in practical ways and prepares them for similar work challenges, requiring them to synthesize data and information and producing creative solutions.

American Sentinel University’s team of expert GIS faculty will be exhibiting at the Esri Education GIS User Conference in booth E107 on Saturday, July 12 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m and Sunday, July 13 from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. in the third level – Ballroom 20 Lobby at the San Diego Convention Center.
American Sentinel will also be exhibiting in booth A108 at the Academic GIS Program Fair on Monday, July 14 from 4:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the third level – Ballroom 20 Lobby at the San Diego Convention Center.
