Redlands, California—July 14, 2014—Network provider Unite Private Networks (UPN) has signed an enterprise license agreement (ELA) with Esri, the leading developer of geographic information system (GIS) software. The ELA will allow staff across the organization to visualize business data and use smart maps for making better decisions. UPN delivers high-bandwidth, fiber-based communications networks and services to schools, governments, carriers, data centers, hospitals, and enterprise business customers across a 20 state service area.
"UPN is a growing company, and the need to have Esri licenses available for an expanding staff was key in signing this ELA," says Joe Kilzer, GIS Manager at UPN. "In addition, because the ELA allows us access to Esri’s full complement of GIS software, we believe that using Network Analyst and other ArcGIS extensions will help further automate our estimating processes."
"Esri is proud that UPN has selected ArcGIS to be its spatial platform," says Randy Frantz, Esri director of telecommunication solutions. "The ELA will provide access to GIS technology that will increase the company’s ability to deliver broadband services in a highly competitive environment."
UPN has used Esri’s ArcGIS platform for several years to distribute drawing files, maps, and other company data layers across many different platforms. The ELA expands this capability to more departments and people. Additionally, customer estimates, available with all other mapping data layers, are accessible to more people for quick and precise analysis. This helps UPN keep decision-making quality information flowing throughout the organization.
