Enter the GasBuddy cheap gas heat map. From the Huffington Post… The national average price of a gallon of gasoline was $2.18 as of Tuesday morning, according to GasBuddy. That’s the lowest since 2009, when the economy was still climbing out of the hole of the financial crisis and Great Recession. The national average price is down from $3.32 a gallon a year ago — one happy effect of the ongoing bloodbath in the market for crude oil, where prices have crashed from $100 to less than $50 per barrel in the past six months.
