The following came out of the HOTOSM group today in an effort to recruit volunteers to help crowdsource damage reports in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
From the iRevolution blog… Schuyler and team just got their hands on the Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) super high resolution aerial imagery of the disaster affected areas. They’ve imported this imagery into their Micro-Tasking Server MapMill created by Jeff Warren and are now asking volunteers to help tag the images in terms of the damage depicted in each photo.
Help the Civil Air Patrtol identify damaged structures via the MapMill App http://sandy.locative.us/
This tool uses crowdsourcing to provide an initial filter on imagery that has been collected from affected areas. Your work feeds into analysts who are supporting FEMA.
