Here you will find Canada’s gateway to opendata and all things open – The Official data portal for the Government of Canada – more than 260,000 datasets! The goal of the resource is set out in the Canada open data charter and action plan made available at http://data.gc.ca/eng/g8-open-data-charter-canadas-action-plan. The heart of the site is the data section which is complemented by the 25 top datasets as well as the Open Maps” section. Thousands of data products are provided by more than 38 government departments and agencies. Data are categorized as raw or geo data and made searchable by tags, subject, file format, and license. Data are typically provided in the following formats: GeoTIF, html, XML, TIFF, and “other”.
