SEOUL, South Korea–Daum Communications (KOSDAQ:035720) (CEO Sae-hoon Choi) has announced that it is seeking volunteers to test the Beta version of SolCalendar 1.5 in advance of its release.
“SolCalendar users are very active in giving ideas and suggestions.”
SolCalendar team opened a Beta Test sign-up page on Google Play where individuals and companies can register their interest in testing pre-release version of SolCalendar. Beta Test will be vital in identifying user feedback for the update and to reflect them in the final version.
SolCalendar 1.5 will include ▶ To-do and To-do Widget ▶ Google Maps & Foursquare Integration ▶ Countdown, Date & Shortcut widgets ▶ Simple Stickers Package ▶ Clear & Simple UX/UI
SolCalendar team says that the whole aim of this major update is to raise customer satisfaction.
To-do and Map integration, which were two of the most desired features of SolCalendar users, were included in this update. Also, new customizable countdown, date, shortcut widgets and simple stickers were added to fulfill the tastes of vast majority of users.
The most noticeable change in this update is its new To-do feature. By supporting to-dos and to-do widgets that syncs with Google Tasks, Task management became another key aspect of SolCalendar along with time management.
Also, SolCalendar will become the ‘Google’ calendar app on Android for supporting Google Tasks and Google Maps simultaneously. Not even Google Calendar supports these two features, so this makes everything simple for users who are looking for the best alternative to Google Calendar app.
The update also brings a completely redesigned UI that is much more clear and simple than the old version. Views for adding event are simplified, and Today & Agenda Views are integrated in one menu. Also, unlike in other calendar apps, users can check their monthly and weekly schedules at a glance with the Split View.
SolCalendar team will be opening up the experimental build of its app to willing testers through Google Play’s Beta Test Program. To become a Beta Tester, you need to join SolCalendar Community on Google+ (https://plus.google.com/communities/114268789932460565401) and follow the process suggested in the Community Info and notice. However, there can be time delay before downloading due to the authorization process of Google Play Store.
“SolCalendar users are very active in giving ideas and suggestions.” said DK Jung, Product Manager at Daum Communications. “By reviewing the ideas thoroughly, we found out that we need some kind of link with other services, such as Google Maps and Google Tasks.” He added.
DK also added that they can bring more diverse and practical functions for their future updates as they will further listen to their user’s ideas.
